perfect 10 quilt along week 3

It’s week 3 of Fat Quarter Shop’s Perfect 10 Sampler quilt along! And this week I made some Coffee blocks:

And a Cookie Dough block!

(In reality, I’m not a coffee drinker. I switched over to tea 18 years ago and I even travel with my own teabags because strangely, lots of hotels only have yukky tea! But cookie dough… now I could eat that by the spoonful! But the tea and cookies are a whole other story, so back to the quilt blocks…)

I’ve had a few requests for information about my fabric and pins, so I’d like to share my whole resource list with you right here. Please excuse the fact that I didn't think to photograph my supplies!

My pins are always Clover #2507. I’ve sewn with them exclusively for many, many years. I love them because they are long and thin and don’t distort the fabric. I separate them into blue pins and yellow pins, and I use them for different purposes.

I store my pins in magnetic pinbowls. They are great because I can turn them upside down and the pins don’t fall out! I don't even need to be too careful; just aim the pin in the general direction of the bowl and it magically ends up in there! I also occasionally run the bowl over the carpet to pick up any stray pins. And in my house, this makes my sewing studio a bit more Chloe cat friendly.

The print fabric that I’m using for my Perfect 10 sampler is Guest Room by Kristyne Czepuryk. This is Kristyne’s second collection for Moda, and it mixes nicely with First Romance. I love how Kristyne has rolled all of my favorite types of prints into one collection - cheerful florals, gingham, dots, wallpaper stripes, and even some tonal backgrounds.

My background is Moda Bella Solids in 3 Sisters Pink, and I think that it might be the most perfect pink fabric ever!

And let’s not forget the pattern! It is the new Perfect 10 Quilts book from It’s Sew Emma. The book features 16 quilts using the Creative Grids Perfect 10 ruler.

It always surprises me to see how these blocks can look SO different with our fabric choices. I’m sewing along with this creative group:

I’m going to try to return soon to show you some of the other projects that I’ve been working on!
