perfect 10 quilt along wk 5
/Yup, it’s Perfect 10 Tuesday! This week’s blocks are the Dutch Chocolate star-shaped block and the French Vanilla brick-shaped blocks. Dutch Chocolate is made of 24 half square triangles and one plain square, and it’s practically huge at 18”! As you can see, I had one of those “oh-my-gosh-how-do-I-photograph-a-huge-block” moments here! (Yeah… and the fact that it’s been raining for a week and the inside of our house is spooky dark!)
And then for the French Vanilla blocks, well, you basically cut up 4 layer cake squares and sew them back together. Can we call these easy bake blocks?!
As always, I am using the new Perfect 10 Quilts book from Fat Quarter Shop and the Creative Grids Perfect 10 ruler, along with some Guest Room fabric. And we have just a few more weeks before we start to assemble our sampler quilts!
(I started something new yesterday! Have you seen Lori Holt’s new Vintage Christmas book and sew along? I am one of the guest bloggers on the tour. I made my first block last night, and it is CUTE. Stay tuned…)
